After many years of a pilgrim existence as a church, moving from one place to another, the Lord Jesus graciously provided us with a lot and building through the contributions and help of the members and the generosity of other churches. The present building of the church was inaugurated in 1997 and it has been such a great help to the church for our regular weekly stated meetings of worship and prayers, special times of fellowships, especial evangelistic meetings, yearly Pastors’ Conferences, regular Pastors’ Fraternal, and other activities.
Now the time has come for us to do major changes to our building in order to fit our present and future needs as a church. The increased attendance on the Lord’s Day has made the place too crowed for us, especially when we have our special evangelistic meetings. We also need rooms for the Sunday schools for children, and private rooms for pastoral counseling. In addition to this, the road besides the church’s building has become a main road for vehicles to use and noise has become a big problem during our church’s services. The peace and quite we used to enjoy during our church’s services is a thing in the past. Now the noise can become a big distraction to us.
In the light of this, the elders have proposed to the church that we should make a second floor of our present building and make it into our worship hall. This hall would be bigger since the entire floor will be used for worship. Then we can convert the ground floor, which we are presently using as our worship hall, into function rooms for Sunday schools, counseling rooms, library, and other functions. In order to reduce the noise of road traffic, we also want to close the worship hall on the second floor and put an air-conditioning unit.
The estimated cost of the building project is 2.5 million pesos or about 53,000 US dollars. The church has been able to save up 1 million pesos or about 21,000 US dollars for this project. We need about 1.5 million pesos or 32,000 US dollars so that we can begin the project. If you are interested in helping the church in this project, please contact us . . .
The Summer Camp was a wonderful experience.. Because of it, we learned many things from God's Word. There were 7 sermons in all, each dealing with the beautiful and important topic of the Fruit of the Spirit.
We learned about love and that it gives unselfishly for the well-being of its objects. We learned about joy. This joy is real, founded and rooted upon God, the Giver, instead of only on the gifts of the Giver, and is oftentimes mingled with Godly sorrow.. Then, we learned about peace, which is the absence of sinful anxiety. We learned about patience, which is slow to anger and does not retaliate a wrong done against it, about kindess and goodness, which blend together to produce a kind, sweet, and gentle giving, and faithfulness, upon which others can rely and depend.
